Common questions
- How is the quote calculated?
- Current resale value of the same device on Cashify / OLX / mid-market refurb listings, minus our refurb pipeline cost (testing, cleaning, regrading, warranty cover). We do this manually so you get a firm number, not an algorithm guess.
- Why are dealbyu credits worth more than cash?
- Credits stay on-platform — we don't pay payment-gateway fees and you become a returning customer. So we share the savings: every credit rupee is worth 10% more than the cash equivalent we'd offer for the same device.
- When exactly do I get paid?
- Only after our technician physically examines the device and you accept the final offer. We never pay before inspection — that protects both sides. The preliminary quote you get in 24 hours is subject to that examination, and we send you photos of anything that changes the offer.
- What happens if you don't like the device when it arrives?
- Our technician boots it, runs functional tests, checks battery health, screen, ports and the accessories you said were included. If something doesn't match what you described, we send photos along with a revised quote. You can accept the revised offer, or we ship the device back to you free of charge — no haggling, no penalty.
- Do I need the original bill or box?
- Nice-to-have, not required. A bill helps verify the device isn't stolen and gets you a slightly higher quote. Box and accessories add a bit too. None of these are deal-breakers.
- What can't you buy?
- Stolen / under-finance / blacklisted IMEIs, devices with active iCloud / Google account locks, anything imported through grey-market with no India serial. Tell us up-front if you're unsure — we'll let you know either way.
